Lisa VanZegeren taught for 23 years in the American public school system. While there, she developed and maintained a school-within-a-school catering to thousands of urban teens. She has a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Literature from Grand Valley State University. She is currently a dog-walker, transcriptionist, and freelance writer living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her two cats Sophie and Bowie.
